MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

HO-HO-HO from Sean and family. Now go Elf Yourself!

WASHINGTON DC

We made a weekend jaunt down to the nation's capitol. Sean's dad had some business down there at the Newseum. But there was plenty of time for sight-seeing and walking around the monuments. Even met up with cousin Sarah, a freshman at American University.

And whew, it was really really hot and sticky.

Here's a slide show of pictures from the trip.

4TH GRADE

Sean started 4th grade today, moving onto the John Y. Dater Elementary School. His teacher is Mr. Watson. Hard to believe summer's over. Even harder to believe he's in 4th grade. Good luck this year Sean, have a great school year.

CAMPFIRE 2008!

The Ramsey dad's took the boys on a weekend camping trip to Lake George, for the 2nd annual Labor Day weekend Campfire. Sean had a blast hanging out with his buddies toasting marshmallows over the evening fire, swimming & boating in Lake George, and sleeping on the ground in a tent without having shower or change into PJ's. Here's a look at some photos from the weekend, posted on Snapfish.

MOUNTAIN CREEK

Sean and Dad went to Mountain Creek water park on Monday. It was so much fun. Water slides, crazy rides, cannonball shots, and death-defying jumps.

<<< This is Sean being shot out of the Cannonball!

See his highlight video from the day.

I am TIGER FRANKLIN

The Ramsey Junior Golf season ended today, and Sean finished up the year strong. Tonight was the annual dinner, and to Sean's surprise -and delight- he took home two runner-up trophies.

Sean came in 2nd place in the 6-hole club championship for 9-year olds. His friend Daniel Botta came in first. And Sean was the runner-up for the season average.

Here's a video from the dinner.

MONTAUK -The End

We spent our summer vacation on the tip of the south fork of Long Island Montauk, here are the pics. Lot's of beach, biking, lobster, and ice cream. We have not vacationed here in a few years, it was good to be back on eastern LI -the finest beaches anywhere.

MONTAUK 2001

We were there on Ditch Plains back in 2001.

Montauk 2000

We were there again in 2000.

MONTAUK 1999

We also vacationed there when Sean was a mere two months old, back in 1999.

RAMSEY CC SWIM TEAM

Sean really enjoyed being on the swim team this year. He improved tremendously and worked very hard. Here's a look at him swimming against Knickerbocker CC, he came in first place in this race.Way to go Sean.

Look out Michael Phelps.

So Long Tisdale!

Sean graduated from 3rd grade and the Tisdale Elementary School in Ramsey this week.

The kids made a grand final exit, marching through the hallway to the applause of parents, teachers, and classmates.

Here's a look back at the final clap-out. Congrats Sean!

School's out for summer...

The BADGERS

The Badgers Ramsey Rec baseball team finished up the season strong. The kids learned some baseball skills, won a few games, and had a really fun season. Thanks to coach Sciubba and all the other parents who pitched in.

SEAN'S 9th BIRTHDAY

Can u believe The Tiger is now nine? Where did the time go. Sean we love you more than you could possibly imagine. Happy number nine. Sean picked the Macaroni Grill for his birthday dinner.

MOTHER'S DAY

Today was Mother's Day, a changeable day that started out nice, so we took a bike trip over to the Celery Farm in Allendale.

Here's a link to my friend Jim Wright's blog about the nature preserve, The Celery Farm & Beyond. There's some great posts on there, and Jim is a local expert on bird and nature, including a web-cam set up in an owl's nest.

Tisdale Rodeo

3rd graders at Sean's school took part in the annual Bike Rodeo - a day where kids all rode bikes to school and received bicycle safety instructions from the Ramsey police.

Disney 2008

We made a short visit to Disney in April, here's a look at some of the fun. The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Epcot Center all were fantastic.

A LIVE REPORT FROM WASHINGTON

Sean's Mom and Dad played news reporters at the Newseum Grand Opening Gala in Washington DC, and made an interesting discovery. Take a look.

Sean's Nana & PopPop joined him for the Grand-friend's Tea at Tisdale. His mom and some of the other parents decorated the school gym with balloons and the 3rd graders served tea and pastry to their grandparents. Sean's other grandparents live in Florida and could not be there. It was a special day.

THE RAMSEY-RIPPER

Sean's swing looks good during the season opener, going 2-for-2 with a walk. Here's a look at his first hit of the season, a line drive up the middle....look at him go...

OPENING DAY

Sean's team this year is the Badgers. Saturday was the Little League parade through town to mark the opening day of the baseball season. Let the fun and games begin.
